Summer Movies out with a "Bang"

Michael Mann invents a new genre of filmaking. This Crime/Thriller brings out one the best acting performances by 2 actors this summer, all in a 2 hour time frame. Jamie Foxx, revives himself from a horrible first quater and is now likely to recieve a nomination for either his role as "Max" or "Ray" (also released this fall).

Going to the movies I had a tough choice between "Little Black Book" and "Collateral", I had expected Collateral to be a another Phone Booth, spending the movie blackmailing one another in a cab with a twisted ending. Turns out the movie got everyone on the edge of their seats anticipating the next scene.

Michael Mann has his own distictive way of directing his movies. If you have seen Tony Scott's Man on Fire, you would know what I mean. He has a play with the camera which gave the movie its flare. Without it, it would be another overacted oscar wannabe. Its good to say Michael Mann suprised alot of his fans and will continue too with this huge boost in his carrer as an director.

Coming towards the end of the summer season, with big hits like "Spiderman 2", "I Robot" and "The Village" this movie tops it all off, with many known dissapointments and overrated movies soon to come. This will be a landmark in film making history. It has very few flaws, none which are noticable and you will constantly be thinking about it hours after its over. There is no comparisson between the 2 releases this week, see this movie and you will be tempted to see it again.
