This movie captures the times it is depicting so well, you feel like you are there. Every performance is suberb. Technically the film is masterful, but beyond all that great technical work, is a film that is heartfelt and real, that keeps you entralled. I can't remember the last film I attended where the audience stood up and cheered.
I am neither a boxing fan nor much of a Russell Crowe fan, but I was totally wrapped up in every moment of the film and Crowe is perfect. Paul Giamatti should win a supporting oscar and Renee Zellweger is terrific.
Best film of 2005 so far. |
