As only Ron Howard seems to have the vision, passion and conviction for .. this is a great history lesson for all ages. I intentionally went at noon today anticipating the "Blue-Hairs" and they did not disappoint me. The few I spoke to afterwards either remember it being that rough, not as rough or rougher. Many scenes appeared contrived when in fact the values portrayed on the screen were on the mark. These were the people whose passion for truth, honesty and the preservation of family and family values were what Tom Brokaw wrote about. People were cheering out loud during the movie and many were sobbing with joy at the hope of someone who looked the depression wolf in the face and kicked his teeth in .. who was an example of working hard, family dedication, committment of one man to one wife and families helping each other and friends as they could. This movie doesn't have to win an Oscar to get my admiration and respect. Crowe and Zellweger's performances will make you cry and make you cheer if you allow your heart to go with what's protrayed on the screen. You too may leave the theatre with a little more hope and appreciation for the fact you and I may not have it as bad as we sometimes think. Enjoy. |
