as an american citizen, it is sad to see such ignorance... weren't our ancestors killers when they slaughtered the native americans and the african americans? here is a man who fought for what the 13 colonies fought for, freedom, and you are condemning him because you don't like the way he seeked it? i'm not saying i agree with his methods, but i sure can understand his reasons and his passion... not to disrespect the cuban community because yes, some cubans don't agree with him, but he was loved by the cuban people and most of latin america at the time... i recommend that people read his work and his life before judging...
the movie does a good job of not being overly sympathetic with the character, showing his more human side, as well as the revolutionary side, even killing deserters and "traitors to the revolution"... benicio del toro's excellent portrayal of guevara brings the character down to earth and makes him seem like a real human being, not a picture in t-shirts... it is clear that benicio studied che's every move before stepping into the shoes of the revolutionary... soderbergh's movie is not a hollywood movie and can seem lengthy at times, but the intelligent viewer will appreciate its virtues as well as its flaws... |
