Why did the paid critics pan this movie while those people who viewed it for the most part liked it? Is that why the movie was shelved? Formulaic? Yes. Outrageous humor, at times yup. And Carolina is certainly a Chick Flick and nothing more, but there are moments of laughter and reverance for families of all types. Yes, Virginia there are a lot of kooky families out there and Carolina's is about the kookiest...or are they? Look at the news and you might begin to realize that life is not all sophisticated glamour. The glue in this family, is the grandmother played by Shirley MacLaine. Far out, you bet, but don't we all wish for a grandmother (and lover) who loves unconditionally even if with a bit of a bite? My big question is, with all of the horrible violent non sensical movies out there, why was Carolina shelved? I say let the audience decide, not those critics who are so taken up with their own false wisdom. |
