A must-see for Burton's fans...and hopefully this film will spark some new ones. Each twist and turn is filled with his quirks, wonderful crazy humor, wilder-than-wild imagination, and a very sweet human touch.
The story is truly wonderful and it's pure joy to watch. The visuals are outstanding and I love how Tim Burton transports you to another time and place. The town of Spectre even reminded me a little of the suburban paradise in "Edward Scissorhands" (with a wonderful twist).
From the giant to the witch to the circus...there is so much fun and magic in this film. The relationship between father and son is very grounded and tight. The love story is wonderful and immensely moving and the ending really took my breath away. I would love to see this film nominated for best adapted screenplay. It's simply marvelous.
There is something for everyone in this film. Just a pure delight from start to finish! |
