How you could give this movie anything less then a "B+" is beyond me. I don't know what's wrong with all of the critics, but from now on, I'm reading user reviews instead of the critic ones. This movie was excellent! there was tons of action, some of the best comedy I've ever seen in a movie, and the story...oh, the story. I can't give away ANY of the best parts, but the story is inspired. It's nothing deep of philosophical...it's a "Summer Movie" script. People say the violence was a little "Extreme", but I would think if you're going to see a movie called "Bad Boys", knowing what kind of stuff happened in the first installment (Mike's (Will Smith) friend who happens to be a hooker is killed within the first...15 minutes), you would go with expectations of a lot of violence. The direction is excellent. They knew when to shoot straight, and not mess up the movie with a whole bunch of bad camera angles. They also knew when to recognize that film making is still an art, and found creative ways to express their creativity. The visuals...man, when they showed this bullet fly from the gun, to a jars, through the Ku-Klux-Klan member, and then into Marcus (Martin Lawrence)...I knew this wasn't going to be a movie filled with the same type of "impressive visuals". The acting was EXCELLENT! All of the characters, even the minor ones, contribute to the movie. They make you feel like this all really passed by, to the point you almost forget your in an auditorium...until the audience starts roaring with laughter over yet another hilarious moment. I'm going on and on about this, so I'm going to end it with this: If you see one "summer movie", make sure it's "Bad Boys II". There's no way you can be disappointed. |
