I liked this movie very much but I will tell you, it can be very uncomfortable to watch. Bob Crane becomes addicted to sex here and this addiction drags him down just like a drug and John Carpenter becomes his "sex buddy" just like a drug buddy. These two don't have much in common except a sex addiction and this becomes the driving force in their lives. It's not pretty.
I liked it because I felt the acting and direction were outstanding and it just felt like everyone involved cared a lot about this film. It worked for me.
I think if you liked Taxi Driver, Star 80, Requiem for a Dream, Boogie Nights, American Beauty, you might like this one. |
