How did she (Meg Ryan) achieve that lower throaty voice and why? Jackie Kallen makes a cameo appearance as a reporter and asks a question of Luther Shaw (played by Omar Epps) with no where near the sexy phone voice that Meg ebellishes in this round. At times Meg's voice sounds like she spent hours screaming at her favorite sporting event or was recovering from smoking packs of ciggerets. Meg doesn't climb into a new character as much as she trys out her impersonation of Jackie. All the Megism's are still very present. I enjoyed viewing this film with a feel good ending and excitment in the boxing arena. My praises to Charles S. Dutton in his adaptation of Felix Reynolds with a well done performance. |
