Duvall superb in cliche-ridden story
by David O (movies profile) Aug 20, 2004
The story is cliched and overlaid on a premise of pure fantasy. If you can accept that a Scottish village with what appears to be about ten houses and a one-boat harbor has a soccer club that reaches the Scottish Cup Final against Rangers than you will love it. As usual Robert Duvall (IMHO the best there is) brings off the character (and accent) 110%. Duvall's name appears in the cedits but you are actually watching Gordon McLeod, the Kilknockie(?) coach.
