This movie is very similar to "the Ring" in many aspects. For those who have not seen "the Ring", it is a very good film and very worth watching.
Anyway, back to FearDotCom: it's about a cop and a health department officer team up to catch a psycho ("doctor" as he calls himself) who kills people and puts the death scenes onto the internet. The story is interesting and has some nice psychological twists, although it seems a bit superficial from time to time.
I didn't particularly like the visual because there were too many dark scenes where I could hardly see anything at all even when my TV is set on brightest, not to mention switching back and forth is really annoying. Also, lack of connection between scenes increases this movie's boredom. In addition, some parts of the movie were hard to understand, at least I couldn't find the answers to a few major questions after watching 2 times.
Overall, FearDotCom is not one of those top scary movies of all time, but it has its uniqueness. Most importantly, it is not one of those movies that can easily give you nightmares for 2 straight nights, so for those who are easily scared you may want to consider watching this one. |
