Ok first off let me say that Fear Dot Com is NOT a good movie. The plot is so twisted and confusing that its not really worth trying to sort out. I should also mention that this movie seems to just be a rehash of the The Ring.
As horror films go I wouldn't say that FDC (fear dot com) is scary. It doesn't help either that quite often the acting seems somewhat silly.
The plot seems to be that once upon a time a woman was tortured by a mad scientist type until her death. Now there is a website up that is killing people (fear dot com). Together a police officer and a scientist type must solve the mystery before they too fall victim to the website. Sound a bit like the Ring? ;)
What this movie does have going for it is some rather gruesome visuals. There did seem to be horror in the tortures inflicted upon the women and I admit that I watched these scenes with grisly facination. I would say that the last 30 mins or so of the movie had me captured. Honestly this may be one of the gorier movies I have seen.
Does this make up for the overall bad movie? No not really but it still might be an intriguing two hours of your time. |
