Beautifully adapted from Michael Cunningham's novel, this movie is one of the best films of 2002. Niole Kidman won the Oscar for Best Actress which she deserved.
This movie is not for everybody. This is one of those movies where you have to think to understand the story and concept of the movie. Some shallow-minded people might think that this is one of thr worst movies they've seen but I would have to disagree with that.
Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, and Meryl Streep all give amazing performances and portrays their characters well. Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore were nominated for Best Actress and Supporting Actress but Julianne unfortunalely lost to Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The Hours symbolizes the power of fear and denial including truth and restoration. This is a deep and powerful movie. It is one of the most influential and important films of the last decade. |
