A thorough review that bashes the flakes(SPOILERS)

It never ceases to amaze me how flakey people can be when they watch movies. One slight misstep and people are quick to cast a movie into the fiery pit for its transgressions. Usually, the misstep is not a misstep at all: merely a new aspect explored or just an unexpected execution.

The poor reviews I read regarding the new superman movie are all way off base. But, I should have expected as much. Why everyone fails to appreciate the little things in this movie, explains the poor reviews and ignorant remarks.

Some of the criticisms I see are particularly annoying because they come from people who know nothing about the comic and expect things to be told "Their" way.

Idiots abound in the theaters and on these forums, so allow me to clarify some points about Superman in the movie:

1). Contrary to popular belief, Superman cannot simply achieve light-speed instantly. If he did, the super sonic boom would probably do more damage than anything else. In addition, catching a falling plane is not cake-work for Superman, when it is at a flat spin and burning up in the atmosphere, and he is trying to prevent deaths. Remember, there are FORCES going on inside that plane, people. If superman just grabs the plane and halts it instantly, everyone inside would look like scrambled eggs due to a little force called MOMENTUM. Critics go on and on about how this doesn't make sense, when clearly they need to go back to high-school physics class.

2). One moron went on to say that Superman should have been to Krypton and back in five minutes. Once again, stupidity runs rampant. No, moron, Superman does not have infinite power/speed. Taking a trip to Krypton is a long involved trip. If it was not, Jor-El would have flown his son to Earth and been back to die before anyone knew what happened. I REALLY wish people read the comic and used their brains.

3). Idiots that say Bosworth does not play a good Lois Lane are either stuck on Kidder or just don't read the comic, plain and simple. The new Lois Lane is the most accurate I have yet to see. Read "The Death and Return of Superman" and see for yourself. Bosworth was spot on. Get over your ideas of who YOU think should be Lois Lane and rate the damn movie on its own merits.

4). Contrary to idiots on this review forum, I accept the fact that superman has morals BUT is ALSO capable of making mistakes as well. Get off the plot twist, people! Just because you think it should turn out one way, doesn't mean it will. The interesting part of superman is that he is super, but not perfect. Yes, he does make mistakes. Get off it people!

5). Idiot reviewers may not like the movie, and that's fine. But, don't give the movie straight F's just to lower the score of the movie!!!!! That is just insulting and makes reviewers look like ignorant little brats. You may disagree with much of the movie's direction, but it is NOT an "F" movie. Grow TFU!

The little things are what make this movie awesome. It is unfortunate that morons just bash this movie with ignorant comments and flakey plot analyses.

For instance, many little idiot kids never watched Superman II, so the plot twist of Lois' child being Superman's son does not strike them in any profound way.

Another point of interest that many non-fans don't recognize is that the scene with the airplane rescue with Lois Lane is much more profound because it harkens back to the old comics; in the old comics, that is exactly how Lois first encounters Superman: through an experimental space craft accident that Lois is covering. Of course, morons won't notice this very subtle thing because they are... well... MORONS!

People will dis Kevin Spacey's Lex Luthor, but fail to appreciate his subtle touches that make him perfect for the role. For instance, when Lois tells Lex that "Superman would never", Lex flips out in the movie. This is perfect and adds to the history between Lex and Superman. In addition, subtle things like Lex stepping back against the wall after throwing a piece of the crystal into the pool inside the building adds to Lex's persona and savvy personality. His creative use of Kryptonian crystal technology shows Lex's cunning genius. People fail to appreciate things like this, because they don't care. They don't want subtle, they want "in your face". Flakey people, indeed.

Many criticize Superman's trouble with the plane and say that it is inconsistent with him being able to pick up a continent at the end of the movie. First, both feats of strength are completely different in nature. Second, they fail to see the drama and storytelling going on there. The point is that Superman overcame Kryptonite to save the world. He poured every last bit of strength into flinging that continent into space and almost died doing it. People think this is inconsistent, yet they are willing to accept exceptional acts of heroism that they see everyday on TV? People are just flakey. It is ok in every other TV show they watch, but not Superman? Come on people...

Another touch that people fail to appreciate because they don't read the modern Superman comics is how we get to see that Superman's super-powers have a downside. Superman clearly points out to Lois how he hears everyone call for help all around the world. In the comics, this is an important aspect of Superman because it shows that having his power is not all rosy and "kewl" like people think it should be.

The way this movie connects to the previous Superman movies is very underappreciated, especially by the new kiddies that think they know anything of Superman. The integration of original footage and music with the new should be praised. But, both the stubborn old fans, and the new brat kids who claim to be fans, can't seem to appreciate this. Can these crowds appreciate anything with a real plot? I highly doubt it.

So, there you have it. This is more of a critique of the critics, than a review of the movies, because it needed to be. I am tired of flakey, ignorant, kiddy, baby-fied brats reviewing the movie. My review is not the most thorough, but at least it touches on the things that have slipped through the cracks in most reviews. Cheers.
