What was great about Superman Returns was the possibilities it could of had taken with the script. But after the beginning credits (which were a great homage to the 70's/80's version of Superman) -the whole film went downhill fast.

THE STORY: Not only were so many things wrong about the characters lines but the story was ODD and at times I thought to myself: "Was this really even needed to be made as a film?!". The story leaves an impression as if it was written by Brian Singer with his buddies in West Hollywood on a dance party night at the Abbey Bar on Robertson blvd (we all know the stories out here in Hollywood). It was not coherant! And unlike the Superman of the comics, Superman was not moral in this film. He had a child out of wedlock! This was a strange sight. He basically was a babies daddy. And he at times seemed like a peeping tom and was a bit cruel to his dog (if you think about it).

THE ACTING: Kevin Spacey's acting was Over-the-top. Parker Posey was GREAT but not used much and she stood there as if she needed something to do. Brandon Routh is a great MODEL, but is not an actor nor will ever be after these movies. He will be the Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker of this Superman series. Now the worst was Kate Bosworth, though she tries, she is NOT BELIEVABLE as Lois Lane. She is too young and too impy with her acting. She also lacked the magnatism that Margot Kidder brought as a "mess of a reporter" who falls for the sweet good boy Sperman/Clark Kent.

THE SPECIAL EFFECTS: Coming back to my headline: Someone ran away with A LOT of money with this movie. It's graphics were not believable nor were they interesting to see. I predict a lot of studio heads at Warner Bros. to be very angry with Brian Singer if this movie does not do well in the box office.

WHAT MADE IT AN EVEN WORSE MOVIE: (SPOILER ALERT): -The ER scene with Superman. I felt this was dragged out and made the movie seem like Grey's Anatomy for 15 minutes! -The way Lex Luthor got his wealth (Corny at best). -The times Superman falls to the ground and flies to earths orbit. He does both so many times that it becomes repetitive and a bore. -Lois Lane's fame and reporting abilities, Kate Bosworth young looks makes it seem odd that she would win a Pullitzer prize, be a working Mom of a 5 year old and be engaged to a rich man and not have a single wrinkle on her. -Lex Luthors non-speaking Henchmen: They needed to talk for the amount they were on screen. There were times when it seemed like they were silent extras without being members of the Screen Actors Guild! -Finally Superman carried a whole continent made of of Kryptonite without losing his powers after moments earlier losing his powers when he landed on the SAME continent!! UGH!!

Save your money and watch it on DVD.
