If you enjoyed Superman movies when you were younger, don't fear you'll enjoy the new "modernized" version of the series.
Without giving anything away, the movie assumes the viewers know a little of the history of previous movies (Lex's trip to Superman's Ice Fortress, etc..) What is exciting about this movie is that it sets up interesting possibilities for future movies, espically if you enjoyed the TV series of Smallville.
The effects are excellent CG, however the blending of CG with Roth sometimes gives the appearence of Superman having a "Plastic" appearence (no, not as bad as Michael Jackson...)
My kids and I enjoyed Superman returns, maybe not as much as Batman begins, but we are way more excited about the new dynamics that have been created. |
