this "true life tale of gossip" hit theatres with very little fanfare, but slowly built up some steam from critics who praised not only the film, but eddie izzard's portrayal of charlie chaplin and kirsten dunst's portrayal of marian davies. the story is about a murder on william randolph hearst's yacht during a birthday cruise for film producer tom ince. nobody knows what really happened on board the yacht as the police never did an official investigation and only one person was ever questioned, the on board doctor. so history has been written in whispers and THIS film is the whisper told most often. check it out, you won't be disappointed. |
