I finally watched this movie this weekend after wanting to see it for a very long time. I must say that it was a major disappointment. I am getting so tired of watching comedy films that just aren't funny. Has everyone in Hollywood forgotten how to be funny? I think the major lack of comedy is due to a lack of originality. A lot of the gags in this film were old and tiered. I almost lost my lunch when the guy dropped the ATM machine on his foot. Could comedy be more corny than that?
I have to agree with another reviewer who said this film should not have been categorized as a comedy. It's got a strong lesson and would probably have rated a little higher with me if it had been labeled a drama. But when I watch a comedy, I expect to laugh. If I don't, then I can't rate a movie very highly or recommend it to other people. |
