I wasn't sure about it when I first saw it. But now I could watch it again and again. I understand the point of the sex scene between Hank(Billy Bob) and Leticia(Halle). It is the turning point. The movie pivots on it. The first half deals with the tragedy that is each carachter's life and how two seperate lives become intertwined. That sex scene is where the two main carachters initiate feelings of lust which develop into love later on. The second half shows how, despite some moments of despair, contentment is the dominant feeling as they begin the rest of their lives. If you don't like it the first time, watch it again and try to interpret what is going on. Failing that, if you are a Halle Berry fan these are the best sex scenes you'll ever see! |
