Why didn't Whoopi Goldberg win an Oscar for the Color Purple? Or Sydney Portier for A Raisin in the Sun?
It takes an on-screen soft-porn scene between an old ugly white guy and one of the most beautiful women in the world before an African American woman can get noticed for having "talent". What type of "talent" is Hollywood celebrating?
It wasn't acting talent (atleast not in this film). I wish Barry would have passed on the role instead of degrading herself that way. |
