I've just watched 'Kate and Leopold' and 'You've Got Mail' on the same night. Funny thing is that being a bit of a computer geek, I've been wanting to see 'You've Got Mail' for some time now. However, I found it to be a bit of a disappointment. I love Tom Hanks (Apollo 13 is my all-time favorite movie) but 'You've Got Mail' was just so predictable, with lots of forgettable one-liners.
'Kate and Leopold' was exactly the opposite: bags of intelligent humor with interesting dialog; all-in-all it is a very original romantic comedy. Reading the critics reviews for both movies, they seem to prefer 'You've Got Mail' - I don't understand that at all. 'Kate and Leopold' is 9999999999999999999999 times better. :-) |
