"Jimmy Neutron" is a clever and very funny movie that tries, and largely succeeds, in entertaining the kids who are the primary audience and the often luckless parents who have to take them along.
The animation is self-consciously clunky, and views who can't suspend their disbelief will be spitting over numerous physical implausibilities (what are those kids breathing in space?) - but folks, lighten up. With parents sharing endearments like "sugar booger" and forced by aliens to perform the Chicken Dance en masse for aliens let by Ptrick Stewart's voice, this piece has tongue planted so firmly in cheek that it has to work. |
