T3 FALLS SHORT OF THE EXPECTATIONS

T2 was one of the most riveting sci-fi action flic of the last decade.Hence T3 was expected to be a fittng sequel to it.But,T3 dissapoints in the sense it falls terribly short of the high expectations &the hype that it carried before the release. Arnie is back again to protect John Connor(Nick Stahl)& Kathrine Brewster(Claire Danes).Kristanna Loken is T-X, out to terminate John & Kathrine.As in T2,the cat & mouse chase begins with some death defying stunts,highway chases,brick breaking one-on-one fights,bombs & explosions. The film is indeed a visual treat.But is it as good as T2?Is it as good as Matrix:Reloaded,which too is a Sci-fi flic about machines taking over man?No way. Robert Patrick as T-1000 was cruel & menacing in T2,TX only pretends to be.Edward Furlong was a treat to watch as went through a quiver of emotions ranging from joy to anger to dissapointment.Nick Stahl as Connor is as dumb as a dodo.T2 was stylish,T3 is not. The background music in T2 made the excitement mount,heart pound.T3's background score is nothing of that sort. Last but not the least,T3 badly misses the architect of T2,James Cameroon.Somehow the film tends to sag & as the film ends one gets the feeling that it would have been more entertaining if T2 was seen all over again rather than watching T3:THE RISE OF MACHINES. |
