The Scorpion King may have been robbed of Oscar glory in 2002, but then they don't give away statues for Best Ass Stomping or Hottest Hair Flip By An Asian Female. I know. It's a crying shame, but what can you do?
The Rock, true to his wrestling persona, kicked so much ass in The Scorpion King that they had to bring in rectums from other movies to fill the quota. His acting was heart-touching, and usually performed while kicking someone's ass.
The Rock and Kelly Hu had an amazing on-screen chemistry. Then again, Kelly Hu wasn't wearing much in the way of clothing. That would positively affect any man's chemistry. She also did some fine acting. There were some Oscar-worthy sexy pouts, sultry "come hither" looks, and at least one scene of breasts bouncing up and down in slow-motion. It brought a tear to my eye. She plays a priestess, whose magic involves telling the future and healing by putting her hands all over your body. Now that's my kind of magic!
Everything about this movie is perfect. Story, acting, soundtrack, visuals - all superb! I highly recommend owning it on DVD. |
