It kinda disappoints me that this film isn't as good as the first. I mean, the chemistry between the characters are fimiliar, the special effects are a lot of fun, but the humor... Oh, how I miss the humor from the first movie. Director Barry Sonnenfeld pretty much humiliates himself here. He changes everything, and it wasn't even worth changing in the first place, because, I as an audience member felt like something inside of me was changing. I don't like wincing at films like this, because they are meant to be so much fun.

Anyways, the story is about Agent J (Will Smith) who is once again faced with the dilema of dealing with more aliens that want to destroy our planet. It sucks that we are always a target, but hey, that must mean we're important, right? Anywho, he is investigating a murder of a local pizzeria owner who is turned into a pile of goop. The only witness is the beautiful Laura Vasquez (Rosario Dawson) who said they are looking for the light of Zarthon. J, however, doesn't know what that means, but he knows the only person who does... Agent K. Only problem is, K doesn't know that he is a former MIB agent.

So, J, who is kinda on a time crunch had to remind K of who he is inorder to retain the information about the light. If not, well, adios my friends. We're history.

When K is finally reminded of who he is, he discovers that the alien looking for the light is Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle), who has threatened our planet before. However, it doesn't make sense to K, because the light that she speaks of was supposed to be lifted off of Earth a long time ago.

The movie is filled with many special effects that are good, but they are unnecessary. They tried to make jokes that weren't funny out of them, they tried to impress us, but we've seen them all before. Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Rosario Dawson all have their share of charm in this movie, but it doesn't make up for the fact that it just doesn't compair to it's predecessor. I have to say, I don't recommend this movie. Sorry.
