This is probably one of my more recent "favorite movies" The fact that Bill Paxton not only stars and does a great acting job but he DIRECTS IT! Another good movie with some twists as well....the best kinda movies are the ones that trick you I think, it makes you leave the theater/sofa? smiling at how tricky they were.
The movie is 100% original, starring Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton as Matt's "Flash Back father"
So the movie starts with McConaughey going to the lead investagator on the Gods hand killer case. He claims his brother is the killer, and that he took his life, so now he has to tell the story and convince the detective that hes telling the truth and that in fact his brothers the killer. So the rest of the movie is a flash back with Bill Paxton as the Dad and the 2 brothers are with him, motherless. Every now and then and at the end you'll see the present time but the rest is past tense or lies.
So they actually have a pretty good life for having no mother/wife. The dad is ultra cool (did I just say ultra cool..?) and it seems like they all get along fine. Then the dad has a vision from god, he's told that the family is chosen as gods servants, his "Demon Slayers" so he keeps having these revelations which end up giving him 3 chosen weapons and a list of demons disguised as humans. So they go upon killing a few people with the elder son, McConaughey going against the thing and it escalates from there into the reasons of current events.
My favorite thing about this movie is Paxton, he acts so calm, hes killing people but REALLY believes their demons (Maybe they are...=) ) and he always has a cool head about things, hes always calm, and very convincing...it's a real treat to watch.
I can't say much more without spoiling anything...good acting from Bill Paxton, not much seen or done by McConaughey but he was fine I guess on his acting end and the movie has some real good twists. The concept is real good and original as well, everyone should check it out just to see something new.
