This movie is definitely one of the greatest movies of all time....peformance by aamir n others are memorable n direction by ashutosh was his career best...the movie was even nominated for the best movie in foregin films category at the oscars...
The movie talks about the ancient india in 1920's. The peasants attempt to persuade the officers to reduce the taxes. One senior officer offers them to cancel their taxes for three years if their village team beats them at cricket. After accepting this proposition, the villagers face the task of learning the game and playing for a result that will change their village's destiny. Ultimately, villagers win the game in the end...
Its a fascinating movie made by ashutosh considering that the story idea was simple, but the screenplay, dialogues, editing n direction were so great that it holds audience's attention till the end... |
