I loved the ***** out of this movie. I cannot really defend that, nor should I. Gangs of New Yoek fits nicely in my realm of personal taste. Saw it nine times in theatres.
However, I did see that a lot of people's beefs with this show is the slang used, as well as 'the way they talked'. ***** off dummies. It's called BELIEVEABLITY! You want to see a movie that has people speaking in modern way, see Titanic. I opine that that show was crap, because of that reason. I know that people speak different from generation to generation, especially in differences of 90-140 years. If I hear people in a 1860's movie talking like I do, then the suspension of disbelief is shot to hell.
Chaos sums up this show. But excellent acting overall, especially my new favorite villan. The story was about as good as a revenge story can get. As always, I liked Scorsese's chaos. Tough to watch for some folks, obsession not enough for others. |
