One of the most thought-provoking films I've ever seen. Apocalypse Now is the story of Lt. Willard (Martin Sheen) trying to track down the mysterious Crl. Kurtz (Marlon Brando), a rebel Army officer leading a renegade army in the jungles of Cambodia.
The acting in this movie is superb, especially Robert Duvall as a gung-ho general who likes to surf.
Only quibble: sometimes the plotting seems a little muddy. I understand the need for ambiguity, but total chaos is another thing altogether. Review based on Redux edition. |
