I came across redux by chance;it's the first movie I was after.I wasn't very impressed.I enjoy marathon movies,I liked the natural setting of mangroove swamp and palm leaf and the general idea of Americans out there;away from their streets.what realy bothers me is the absence of any formidable resistance to their advancing choppers. We see them invade a beach, have fun and set off again like Vietnam was all bliss for them.Gruesome acts towards the end of the movie like the literal chopping of a buffallo and the renegade colonel don't make issues any better.Probably tence situations like the female nam sniper keeping down Americans:full metal jacket, real life atmosphere of numerous scenes in Killing Filds and jungle fire exchange in We Were Soldiers or better still in Rogger Moore's Wild Geese, would have made Redux the perfect adrenaline pump for every war movie fun. |
