The Coen Brothers' Worst Movie Ever
by moviefreak (movies profile)

At first, this sounded like an interesting concept for a film, which it was. However, interesting concepts don't necessarily make for good movies. Case in point, the Coen Brothers travesty, "The Man Who Wasn't There." Don't even ask me to recap the plot, because it was so jumbled up that I still can't quite figure it out. This is due to a script which is so awful that it makes this reviewer believe that someone needs to go back to screenwriting class. Most of the dialogue made no sense whatsoever. Credit goes to the cast for making what they could out of this mess. The look of this film was the best thing about it. Normally, when I see a film in black and white, I immediately turn it off. However, that is the only thing, other than Billy Bob Thornton, that kept me tuned in to what was otherwise a piece of trash. |
