It's almost a pill the first time around, because it's quite different (God forbid with today's trend toward excessive commercialism, canned plots, and remakes). Gets better every time you watch it after that, though. Could have done without the overly corny Nike bit, but after the We Will Rock You and hot dog vending, it can be expected. DVD has great extras, especially the stuff about the Czechoslovakian extras. Great soundtrack and chemistry between the actors. Lead actress could have used a little more direction and zip/spark, but still looked great and carried her own. Ledger shows some great promise. |
