Sgt. Elias again...
by SnowyNotes (movies profile) Apr 5, 2008
William Dafoe reappears as Elias like role in the wartime right before WWII when Japan was trying to expand its territory with millitary forces and savageness with very arrogant phiolosophy of being just the No.1 nation of the Asian area and might excell Adolf Hitler's 3rd Reich notion.
I foolishly shed some tears when Mrs. Woo finally admitted her innerself being shook & awoken which was concealed, maybe forever without the hand of Brother Andre, by so-called traditional oldfashioned virtue of Chinese soceity.
But, at the same time, I felt like as if not a day had passed since this kind of things were a matter of fact, cause what we or other Asian women or ladies face even today has trapps us covertly.
And, may I add when I saw William Dafoe spoke and move in that movie, he reminded me of Peter O'tool in Bernard Bertoricci's 'Last Emperor'?
