Please be warned you who are reading this review. Some people will tell you that this film is "funny." Some people will tell you that this film is "genius." Well, consider this: some people also enjoy shoplifting from Wal-Mart. Some people think literature is a McDonald's coupon book. Some people wonder just how many states there are in the USA. Some people don't know the difference between their, there, and they're.
This movie is not good. There is nothing artistic, comedic, or redeeming about it. Rather, it is the kind of thing you might watch if your idea of entertainment is seeing roadkill shoveled off the street. It is so low brow and mindless that even Syracuse U grads are above it.
Green's formula for comedy seems to be thinking of the absolute worst, most outrageously tasteless idea, and then running with it. In that sense, anyone who has ever had the urge to grab a urinal cake and take a bite finds himself on equal footing with this so-called "genius."
Terrible. Just terrible. If you thought this movie was funny, I suggest you head over to the library for some cultural IV. Being ignorant and easily amused is nothing to be proud of. |
