A funny, quick romp of girl bands, product placement and dumb blonde humor! Unfortunetly, I missed this movie in theaters, but I did bother to rent it a little while after it was released to video. It looked good so I rented it, sliped it into my VCR and was automatically pulled into this roudy, funny, ronde'vu. At first glance, when you see the beggining, you may wonder what this whole "boy band" thing is about, but you'll soon realize that it is all a big joke when their plane goes down and you assume that they are now dead and rightfully so. Then, we get to the girls. Overall, this movie was fantastic. There were at least three "music videos" with loads of wonderfully small clips combined of the girls laughing and having fun, there were lots of funny jokes (some obvius and some of those 10 min. later "Ohhhh! Hahah"'s), and there were plenty of stunning visuals of these beautiful girls. Now, you may notice all of the product placement in this movie (much more than usual) - the critics had a field day with that. However, any individual with half a brain would be able to figure out that it is all a joke that is tied to the theme of the movie. I admit that the ending is a bit choppy and corney but you must realize that this is based on a comic book! What kind of a comic dosent have some unintelligible irony to it? Anyway, I'd like to say that the music to this movie is extemely enjoyable and not only in that it is a fun romp, but also that it was made specifically for this movie. Well, there you have it - JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS!!!! |
