Got the DVD for this movie on the cheap at Walmart. The premise seemed neat enough, (Dud remakes himself into stud) and I was looking for a few good laughs, but this movie is just off the reservation of stupidity. With this story line they could of done much much more with it.
There were maybe 3 or 4 funny scenes, but they were lost in a horribly directed film that went from horrible scene to horrible scene with wreckless abandonment and no sense of direction.
The supporting cast of characters for Qualls were just beyond lame and he doesn't have the acting gravitas to carry a movie as a lead role. I imagine he'll stick to more Road Trip-like supporting roles after this stinker.
The scenes involving Qualls rallying the football team (as George Patton and Braveheart) were so pathetically lame, I have no idea what kept me from popping out the DVD right there. Perhaps I was just see what further trainwrecks awaited me. I could list another half a dozen scenes that just made me want to turn off my TV and goto bed.
After watching this film earlier tonight, I turned to my girlfriend and said, "This might be the worst movie I ever seen". Probably an overeaction to my disgust at the moment, but it's certaintly in the bottom 10 of all the movies I've seen.
For the love of your wallet, please do not pay to see this movie. It's a magnificant waste of your hard earned money. Learn from my mistake. |
