In the same essence of Meatballs and Camp Nowhere, Wet Hot American Summer is a great camp movie. The story is ludicrous and so far away from reality. But it is the craziness of the film that makes it enjoyable. As a fan of movies set at a camp, this one was really enjoyable. The cast was adorable. It was full of character actors you love (Amy Phoeler, David Hyde Pierce, Ken Marino, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper to name a few). The movie is full of quirky, hilarious character. My personal favourite was the relationship between Gail and the camper, Gene the camp cook (the best character in the film played by Christopher Meloni) and the camp talent show host. A great indie film that I highly recommend. Also some great D&D jokes. |
