It isn't about lesbians... its about falling

I watched this movie expecting a typical lesbian film, but was pleasantly surprised that it was relatable to anyone who has ever experienced a love like Paulie and Tory, the kind of love that grips you in its vice, and refuses to release its hold on your heart. My favorite line from the movie is when Mary says to Paulie "Tory isn't a lesbian, you should just move on." Paulie replies with, "Lesbian?!??? You think I'm a lesbian???" "Well you're a girl in love with a girl, right?" "No, I'm Paulie in love with Tory, remember??" I think that quote sums up one of the important parts of the movie. I cried throughout the entire second half. Although some may say the acting and the plot was overdone or drawn out, I would have to say I strongly disagree. It reflects the reality of dealing with the feelings that Paulie was dealing with. Things don't get resolved magically in 90 minutes in real life... so if the movie drags on, I say that gives it more credibility as a realistic drama. Awesome movie... everyone should see it! |
