Many critics have only made notice of Ben Kingsley's powerhouse performance, but the rest of the cast, particularly Ray Winstone and Ian McShane are excellent as well. Winstone plays a retired mobster, who lives with his wife and their friends in Spain. From out of their past comes Kingsley, who is unbelievably vicious, as their former mob boss.
Kingsley wants Winstone for one more score (set up by McShane). When Winstone refuses, Kingsley becomes increasingly violent in order to convince him. I don't want to reveal anymore of the ingenious plot.
The accents are a bit thick, so if you watch the DVD, I recommend subtitles. |
