I had never heard of this film 'til I picked up at the Library. It is exactly what one expects from an Indie -- a work of fine art that explores the suburbia innerworld from the view of a teenage boy. I watched it a 2nd time with the Director's commentary which adds a lot to one'e appreciation; many of the scenes were created ad hoc. This film reminded me of the Australian New Wave film, Picnic at Hanging Rock -- both explore children's inner worlds through the physical and emotional landscape. Brilliant! |
