As a psychologist, you might think I'd like movies like "A Beautiful Mind"... I didn't. It was unreal, overacted, and too politically correct.
But, nothing could be further from the truth for "Donnie Darko." It swept me away with its surprisingly realistic AND poetic portrayal of a young man struggling with schizophrenia... then again, maybe he understands things the rest of us fail to perceive.
It is one of those movies that gets better the second (or third) time around. I highly reccomend it. |
