The only reason I give this movie some lower A's is because they did not let you know exactly some of the things some people needed to know. The only way I learned alot of the things about this movie was by watching the commentary on the DVD with Jake and Jim. Like the fact of him being very comic book superhero like person, yes there was good foreshadowing in this movie to let us know about things like that but people can not figure out every thing right away. Also they should have somehow let us know that other people were being minepulated and does "Frank" really travel through time to reach Donnie, if so why did he not wake him up again after saving the world. I still absolutly love this movie. I know some things could not be told and had to be deleted from the movie like the fact of Donnie's medication was really a placebo to show the viewers that he was not really insane that he just needed to talk and figure out things on his own and that Frank is not just a figment of his imagination. Yes in all reality this movie does make you think but on some things it make you thing to deep and to far in to the movie they leave a very broad opening to the ending, why did he die does he think it is some sort of dream and if it was why would he laugh wouldn't that be a scary thought. They say at the end that Frank is honking his horn to try to wake up Donnie but also at the begining Frank honks also is he honking at his sister that time and at Donnie the second time but then that would just mean that time changed instead of just traveling back through time. Some things did not add up but it still is a very good movie. Ecspecially the fact that they did this with a low budget and anyone that had anything to do with the movie did it for the fact that it was a great script and not just for the money. There still is alot lot more to say about this movie. It has became my favorite movie and it is one of the most intelligent movies I have seen and even after understanding it all there are still many questions to be asked but that doesn't really matter because you still like it enough to where you want to watch it over and over again. To figure out as much as you can about like why every one cries or wakes from the movie some of them I know, some I don't. Did Donnie know that he was going to die, if he did then did he let himself die just to save all the ones he love. Like if he didn't burn Jim's house down he would of never found the porn ring room and then the director of Sparkle Motion would have been able to go and his mother would have never died and would the plane still crash in the future.
