Donnie Darko is one of the best movies ever created. The plot is flawless and original, as with the acting. The movie is basically about a boy named Donnie Darko who has emotional problems and questions his beliefs in God. Because of this, he has to visit his psychiatrist weekly. One night, after a small fight with his mother and sister, he is woken up by a voice. He sleep walks outside to find a man in a demonic bunny suit named Frank. He tells him that the world will end in (to be precise) 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. When Donnie awakes, he finds that a jet engine has crashed into his home where he would've been sleeping. After this, Donnie is continously visited by Frank and eventually has his life's questions answered while he finds his true meaning in life. Time travel slips into the plot during this time. The movie continues on Donnie as Frank tells him to do things, such as flood a school so a certain event will happen as a consequence. This movie is quite a mind boggler, but the ending will have you saying to yourself, "What?" This is also a movie in which if you miss a minute, you won't understand a thing. So please, if you are to watch this movie, LISTEN CAREFULLY!! The movie is rated R for language (not brief, mind you), some drug use, and violence. |
