Thirteen Scary Days
by James (movies profile)
Jan 11, 2009
Superb historical drama about the Cuban Missile Crisis of October, 1962, when the world, with good reason, held hits collective breath. U2 photographs confirm that the Soviet Union is introducing stragic nuclear missiles into Cuba. John Kennedy (steller performance by Bruce Greenwood) is faced with the greatest crisis of his Presidency. Walking a perilous high wire, Kennedy must sift imput from a militant Joint Chiefs, who are still smarting over the Pay Of Pigs fiasco, his brother, the Attorney General (Stephen Culp), long time political advisor Kenneth O'Donnel (Kevin Costner) and a divided Cabinet. A "You Are There" thriller that deals with the facts; no silly, unbelievable sub-plots to cloud the event. An event that had the world scared; very, very scared. |
