This movie came out about the same time as Blow with Johnny Depp, and really outclassed it. Wonderful cinematography and use of different film grades/cameras. The acting was second to none, from Benicio Del Toro to Michael Douglas to Cathering Zeta Jones.
It's not a quotable drug czar movie like Scarface, but is designed to probe issues which exist up and down the drug trafficking rings from the growers to the distributers to the American children who end up with the product.
For cinematography and acting alone, this was one of the 3 best movies of 2000. |
