In the wake of Johnny Depp fever that has swept the nation, I decided to go through his old movies and reexamine his talent. He truly is a fantastic actor. Depp and Ray Liotta put on some of the finest performance of their careers. The late Ted Demme also does something incredibly difficult in this film, he actually makes the viewer bypass all known knowledge of George Jung (Depp) and strip him down to a the core of himself. In the end of the movie, you feel so sorry for George Jung, while forgetting the fact that he is a repeat offending drug dealer, because he is also a human being and a father. Supported by a fantastic soundtrack, this movie is one of my favorites, and I do believe that Johnny Depp Fever will continue to sweep the nation as more and more people become truly aware of his versitale talent. |
