Opening with a good and colourful title sequence, the movie gets off to a flying start and is generally well paced throughout. There are a few slower moments though that could have been tightened up here and there, particularly during the last 10 minutes of the movie. Great dialogue throughout, constantly amusing and on occasion down-right hilarious. If I were to be picky I would have said there were perhaps too many supervillains in it for just one movie which doesn't allow time for any of them to really shine as they should. Afterall they were all great villains and great actors. The movie could have done with at least one more good fight sequence earlier on too with Batman and Robin. Overall you just get the feeling that the movie was a little rushed in production, given an extra couple of weeks production time and it would have been that much better again. It's a gorgeous looking film, a product of its time and a classic. A flawed classic, but none-the-less a classic. |
