What I liked most about this movie was the connection to the other side of WWII. (Nazi's vs. Soviets) You never see many movies like this made in America.

I did some research and although there was some dramatization, it gave a good account of the events of Vessili (the protagonist) in the battle for Stalingrad.

The plot was memorable. It moved along very well, but the drama was pretty strong. It is WAR, so I guess I understand the overuse.

The visuals were very good. The background was phenominal and did well in showing the real battle of Stalingrad.

There were many concealed visual effects that they used to show a different, harder angle on some scene which I believed was brilliant.

Lastly, they did an amazing job in showing the social, economic, military, and political ideas of the Soviets. It "almost" made you understand why they did what they did in WWII. The movie got you involved personally with the Russian soldiers and leaders (Shomething you don't see much in the U.S.A.).
