A Film that seeps into You

Really enjoyed "In the mood for Love" and even after the movie had ended I could not wait to check out some of the deleted scenes on the DVD. The story is about two couples who move into adjoining Apartments on the same day and soon realize that they not only share a wall, but their respective spouses are also sharing a secret!!
The acting is top notch and seem to be a perfect match for the Vision of the Director, who takes a story that is well worn and turns it into allegory about yearnings, faithfulness, and a connection to others..just to keep a grip on life itself!!
The story takes place in Hong Kong, Singapore, and a final scene in Cambodia, yet the film stays laser focused on the drama. The music and photography, as well as the 1963 framing is incredible. It makes me smile when the time is taken to create something this beautiful!!! |
