"I deny the accident"
by Sharon (movies profile)
Feb 25, 2005
Ed Harris has made a painting that in the biographical genre is a true work of art. The film is beautiful in places that are very ugly. He never brushes Pollock off, but seeks to explain the complexity of Pollocks demons and those who never gave up on him. The performances were all oscar worthy. These are actors who always deliver and even so this may be some of their finest work. The scene where pollock stands in front of his canvas for life magazine was so emotional if for no other reason we realized how far they had come and the work was astoundingly musical in such a difficult time. The soundtrack made this movie. Perhaps the only dissappointment was towards the end of the film, when it appeared they just wanted to end. I loved this movie. |
